Richard J. Squadron is Of Counsel to the firm and focuses
his practice in the area of sophisticated corporate law
transactions. Richard joined Smith Giacometti in 2005
following more than 20 years of experience as an attorney, financial
executive, and mergers, acquisitions, strategic management and
financial consultant. Richard advised and assisted unaffiliated and
in-house clients ranging from Fortune 500 companies to closely held
businesses and companies to individual clients.
Prior to joining the firm, Richard spent approximately 6 years as an
independent business and legal consultant and as a principal at a
boutique mergers and acquisitions and strategic management
consulting firm based in Wilmington, Delaware. Richard also spent
over 9 years as chief financial officer and/or acting general
counsel to the competitive subsidiaries of Delmarva Power & Light
Company (now Conectiv) and the MidAtlantic Region of NRG Energy,
Inc. Prior to joining Delmarva Power, Richard was a member for 5
years of the Corporate Department of Pepper, Hamilton & Scheetz in
its Philadelphia office.
